Heat Pumps

Heat Pumps are a great way to save money. Heat pumps are the most economical way of heating. Lowering your heating cost up to 60%.

How Heat pumps work

Heat pumps work by moving heat from one place to another. This is done by changing the presure and temperature of the refrigrant and moving it from inside to out. So in heating season they will remove heat from the cold outdoors and put it throughout your house. In air conditioning mode the cycle reverses and removes heat from indoors and places it outside.

Heat Pumps

Where the savings come from

Heat pumps save you money because they transfer heat from outdoors to inside your home.

Example:

Electric heat: With electric heat for every dollar you spend you get $1 worth of heat.                                                                                          1kw paid for, gives you 1kw of heat

Heat pump:  Depending on outdoor temperature and efficiency of the system, because heat pumps use the compresor to move the heat rather than create it, for every dollar spent you can get up to $4 worth of heat.                                                 1kw paid for, gives you 4kw of heat

Other advantages

Some other advantages of a heat pumps:

All heat pumps have air conditioning. Heat pumps are air conditioners running backwards to give you heat instead of cooling.

Heat pumps will give you dehumidification as well, running in air conditioning will also remove moisture with low fan to not cool the space as fast. Also available are units that will heat and dehumidify at the same time.

All heat pumps we carry are forced air, this means they have fans to give an even heat throughout the  space. This makes your space much more comforatable than any radiant heating system.

Types of heat pumps

Ductless Minisplit Heat Pumps.

These heat pumps are great because of the low instalation cost. They can be put in quickly without any major renevations to your existing home. The efficiency of these units are very high because of there inverter compresor. They have an indoor unit on your inside wall with only a small hole to the outside to pass through the refrigrant lines which is then resealed. The outdoor unit is compact and quiet. The interconecting lineset can be covered in a discrete lineset covering making this an economical way for you to be comforatable and save money.

Ducted Heat Pumps

Ducted heat pumps are great because they will heat and cool your entire home every where your duct work runs. Another advantage is the backup heat is built into the system for extreme cold weather where the heat pump may not keep up to the required temperature. These systems can be put into a new home being built, added on to a forced air oil or electric furnace or can replace your existing ducted heating system. These systems can also be used in conjunction with heat recovery systems and humidifiers.
